 Jerry Allen Finch, 76 of Decatur passed away at 5:46 p.m. January 17, 2012 in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.

A memorial mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in St. James Catholic Church.  Dawson & Wikoff North Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.   Memorials may be made to the family.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com.

Jerry was born October 9, 1935 in Decatur, the son of George and Emma (Durbin) Finch Sr.  He married Gladys H. Howell on June 1, 1956.  He was retired from AE Staley Company after forty-two years of service to the company.  He was a member of St. James Catholic Church.  He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid reader.

Surviving is his wife: Gladys of Decatur: children: Dawn Buck and her husband Allan of Decatur, Mark Finch and his wife Karen of Decatur, Trease Mayberry and her husband Jay of Decatur, Suzanne Finch of Decatur and Michael Finch and his wife Heather of Mt. Zion; brother: George Finch Jr. and his wife Charlene of Decatur; grandchildren: Megan Buck, Capt. Joe Buck and his wife Capt. Stephanie Buck, Jacob Wells, Jessica Mayberry, Jeremy Finch and his wife Jenny, Nic Mayberry, Chelsie Finch, Drew Rhodes, Garrett Finch, and Emma Ledbetter; great-grandchildren: Jaxon Finch, Riley Buck, Jradon Finch, and Jocelyn Tallent; sister-in-law: Helen Finch and son-in-law: Tim Wells of Easton, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Cindy Wells; brother: Robert Finch; and sister: Pauline Pumphrey.

Jerry had a great love for his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He will be sadly missed.
